I’m ready to order my custom portrait, how do I start?
Read my section with information about 'How to Order' which will give you a good idea about which medium to choose and how I work. Don't forget to read the section 'Photo Guide' which is full of pointers on how to take great pictures of your pet. After you visited these sections, please fill out the Inquiry form where you can send your best photos. It is really quite simple. I will answer within 24 hours and if I didn't, please make sure I got your Inquiry.
In what mediums (techniques) do you work?
I’m currently painting and drawing with acrylics, watercolor, graphite pencil, and pen/ink.
What is the difference between the mediums you use?
Please read about the different mediums (acrylics, watercolor, graphite pencil, and pen/ink) in respective gallery. I have explained all about each medium separately there.
Does your custom portraits include any digital medium?
No, all of my custom pet portraits and family portraits are traditionally hand painted or drawn. There are no tricks involved.
Do you ever portray from real life?
No, all my portraits are created with photos as reference. I wouldn’t have time to travel around to portray from life.
How do I send you my photos and in what size?
You can send them through my Inquiry form, E-mail or snail mail. If you send regular paper-based photos, contact me and let me know they are on the way. Find the address is on my contact page. If you send them digitally, send the biggest size possible, downloaded from your digital camera in original size. Don’t resize the photos before you send them to me. How many photos do you need?
I create a portrait from only one photograph, but I usually look at other photos for colors and other features as reference. Send several photos if you can.
I would like several subjects on one painting, do I need a photo with all of them together?
No, you can send each photo separately. I will create a photo mock up with all of them together for you to approve before I start to paint. Read my section with information about 'How it Woks' where you will find out more about the photo compisotes I create.
My photo doesn’t have a nice background but I would like one, can you paint one anyway?
Yes, I can paint a nice background scenery for you. Just let me know what you would like and I will create a photo composite along with your subject including a nice background.
Will my portrait be framed?
The portrait prices does not include frames but you can order a frame through me or take the portrait to a professional framer to get it framed. Read more about framing here »
How much does a portrait cost?
That depends on which medium and size you choose. See the Prices and Sizes on my Price-list »
When will I pay for my portrait?
50% of payment is done before I start to paint and the rest of payment is done when the portrait is completed and approved by you, before it’s shipped.
How do I pay?
I will send a money payment request to your email. Payments are usually done through Paypal which is 100% secure with your credit card. I also accept check, but only from bank accounts within the USA.
How long will it take before I receive my portrait?
It depends on how much work I have at the time I receive your order. It takes at least 28 days to complete a portrait and 1 week to send it. Drop an email and I will let you know my timetable at that time.
Will I see the finished portrait before I receive it?
Of course you will. You will be able to follow each step in the process and see the final scan before the portrait is shipped to you. The portrait must be approved before it’s sent.
How much does Postage and Packing cost?
I'm providing with Free worldwide shipping of custom portraits with regular mail. You can also choose to send your package with UPS or FedEx with extra costing.
If I’m in a hurry to get a portrait, what can I do?
First contact me if I will be able to deliver a portrait for the occation. In other case you are able to buy a gift voucher. Read more about my Gift Cirtificates here » |
