This dog acrylic portrait was commissioned by Lynn Tynnel. Several years prior Lynn had raised pure bred golden retriever puppies and during this time she had managed to have this particular litter of puppies sitting on her sofa. In a rare moment they were all looking forward at her at once as she happened to have her camera in hand. Since then Lynn had thought how the photo would look nice hanging in her office at work. She commissioned me to paint them for her when she found out that I do pet portraits for people. Unfortunately, the picture itself, though very adorable, was considerable grainy with much of the finer details lost. Admittedly, I struggled a bit with this one has I had to use other reference photos of golden retriever puppies to get an idea of fur texture and direction. As an artist I am alway overly critical of my work and this portrait was no exception. However, Lynn was very happy with the final painting. The pet portrait is in size 12x18 in and was painted in year 2010.
