Giclee.
Reproducing artwork in the form of high quality Giclee printing is a practice that some artists employ who wish resell their hard work while still remaining protective of the distribution and quality of their work. In that respect, I, too, am such an artist. Giclee printing is the only way in which I allow my artwork to be replicated.
Giclee printing defines an advancement in printmaking technology that is changing the very nature of fine art reproductions and marketing.
The Definition:
Giclee prints (pronounced, "gee-clay"), from the French word meaning a spray of liquid, are created from high-resolution digital captures of original fine artwork, and printed with professional level 7-color to 12-colorwide format ink-jet printers using archival quality inks. The Giclee printing process, carried out by the master technician, provides better color accuracy than any other means of reproduction. The prints can be made on various surfaces matching the original medium, such as canvas, watercolor, and photo-base paper. I offer a choice between archival paper and stretched canvas prints. |
The Quality:
The quality of the Giclee print rivals traditional photographic silver-halide and gelatin printing processes as well as lithographic reproductions. Fine art Giclee prints are accepted by museums, fine art galleries and photographic galleries.
My Giclee prints come with a hand-signed Certificate of Authenticity, your proof that you own a certified reproduction.
Choose from numbered, limited-edition prints (available in predetermined quantities and never to be sold again) or open-edition prints available in unlimited quantities.
